Custom travel to Tonga

The Kingdom of Tonga is one of the last remaining Polynesian kingdoms — 169 islands in the South Pacific, 100,000 inhabitants, constitutional monarchy (King Tupou VI has reigned since 2012). But its world renown comes from a unique phenomenon: between June and October, humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to give birth in Tonga's calm waters (5,000-km migration). It's one of the world's very few destinations where it's legally permitted to swim with them, supervised by certified guides. Vava'u is this season's peak. Ha'apai offers deserted preserved islands. Tongatapu (main island) houses the capital Nuku'alofa and 700-year-old archaeological sites (Ha'amonga 'a Maui).
