Custom travel to Canada
Canada is one of the planet's vastest and most diverse countries — 9.98 million km² (17× France), a bilingual French-English confederation since 1867, twenty-two UNESCO sites. Nature side: the Canadian Rockies (UNESCO 1984, Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Kootenay parks) line up Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the Athabasca glacier; Niagara Falls edges the Great Lakes; up north, Yellowknife offers 240 aurora nights per year and Churchill is the polar bears' world capital. City side: Quebec (UNESCO 1985, North America's only fortified city, Champlain 1608, Château Frontenac), francophone Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver between the Pacific and the Rockies, and L'Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO Viking site predating Columbus. The Rocky Mountaineer remains one of the world's most iconic trains. Canadian cuisine: poutine, tourtière, AOP maple syrup (Quebec produces 73%), bison, Pacific salmon, icewine. First Peoples (fifty-six nations): Haida totems and Inuit igloos. Allow ten to fifteen days to combine francophone East and wild West — a destination designed bespoke, between historic Fairmont hotels, eco-lodges and indigenous experiences.

When to go
Canada is a year-round destination, but each season opens very different windows. From June to September, it's summer: ideal Rockies (15-25 °C, accessible lakes, Moraine Lake open), mild Quebec and Niagara at its peak, maximum crowds in July-August. From October to November opens the unique six-week window for Churchill's polar bears, possibly paired with Yellowknife's first auroras and Quebec's autumn foliage. From December to March, it's the absolute aurora peak (dry sky, 17-hour nights), Whistler or Mont-Tremblant ski, Quebec Carnival in February and the Ice Hotel. April-May (mud season) is the least recommended period, except for Quebec sugar shacks (March-April, maple syrup harvest).
- Summer — Rockies and Quebec (June – September) — Rocky Mountaineer, Lake Louise, Charlevoix whales
- Autumn — Churchill bears and foliage (October – November) — Tundra Buggy, Yellowknife, Quebec foliage
- Winter — auroras and ski (December – March) — Aurora Village, Ice Hotel, Whistler, Mont-Tremblant
- Spring — sugar shack (April – May) — Sucrerie de la Montagne (March-April), maple syrup harvest
Practical information
Canada is very safe (top 10 Global Peace Index). No mandatory vaccines, drinkable tap water everywhere, excellent health system but expensive for foreigners — multi-risk travel insurance is imperative. Far North extreme temperatures (−25 to −40 °C in Yellowknife and Churchill) require specific gear: extreme-cold parka, boots, mittens and balaclava are loaned by Aurora Village and the Tundra Buggy. The eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is mandatory for Europeans — CAD 7, online in five minutes, valid five years. Wildlife-wise, always follow ranger instructions (grizzly and black bears in the Rockies, polar bears in Churchill); bear spray advised for off-trail hiking. Tipping is expected (15-20% in restaurants), and the federal 5% GST adds to Quebec's QST (9.975%).
